Winner of the 2008 Governor General’s Award for Drama. Jamie is twenty-two and works twelve-hour shifts clear-cutting land. At the end of each shift, he sifts through the destruction he has created to rescue injured birds. Rich with dark humour and vibrant dialogue, “Bone Cage” shows us the life-blood of rural Canada flowing through the bone-caged human heart. An urgent, courageous look at our conflicted relationship to the natural world, where stripping the environment means stripping your soul.
